I have climbed via ferratas with friends, relatives and families. From the first hesitation at the start to memories retold years later, these outings have shaped the editorial perspective behind Escapade Éditions.
The origin
From early outings to a world Top 100.
Since 2016, I have shared these routes with very different people. Some discover exposure for the first time; others return for the movement, landscape and time spent together.
Those years taught me that via ferrata can never be reduced to difficulty. The place, history, approach, line through the rock and the memory all matter.
Escapade Éditions grew from that practice: an independent publisher devoted to experiences worth travelling for. The world Top 100 opens the collection.
What the mountain taught me
The memorable via ferrata is not always the most difficult.
An experience becomes memorable when route, landscape and story form a whole. That is what I seek in every selection: a precise reason to remember it, retell it and sometimes cross a country to live it.
